Our workshops

Public speaking and leadership workshops in Spanish

One-day workshops for students in 5th to 8th grade in Denver. Your child practices public speaking in small groups, learns a clear structure for any speech, and gets feedback right away. We use debate as the method of practice. Registration costs $0.

What a workshop day looks like

In total, your child gives 4 to 6 speeches in one day.

  1. Arrival

    Check-in

    We check in every student. Adults are present all day.

  2. Morning

    Confidence and voice

    Posture, projection, and how to present a clear idea with a strong ending.

  3. Midday

    A structure for any speech

    Introduction, example, conclusion. It works for class presentations, interviews, and leadership roles.

  4. Afternoon

    Practice rounds with feedback

    In small groups, with feedback right away: what went well first, then specific tips.

  5. Closing

    Final round and awards

    The day ends with a ceremony where every student is recognized.

Ages 10–12

5th – 6th grade

Foundations

Low-pressure activities to build confidence in speaking. Games, short stories, and first steps in debate, in an environment where making mistakes is part of learning.

Ages 12–14

7th – 8th grade

Argumentation & leadership

More advanced debate and presentation techniques. Students learn to build a case in an orderly way, respond to opposing ideas with respect, and speak with conviction.

How much does it cost?
Zero. Registration and the workshop cost $0.
Who looks after the kids during the workshop?
Adults are present all day. We sign each student in when they arrive and out at the end, and we release them only to an authorized adult.
What happens during the day?
In the morning they practice confidence and voice. Around midday they learn a simple structure for speaking: introduction, example, conclusion. In the afternoon they do practice rounds in small groups with feedback, then a final round and an awards ceremony where every student is recognized. In total they give 4 to 6 speeches.
My child is shy. Can they still take part?
Yes. The workshop is for students who don't yet feel confident speaking. They practice in small groups, and every piece of feedback starts with what went well before moving to specific tips.
Does my child need perfect Spanish?
The workshop is entirely in Spanish and your child takes part by speaking Spanish. It doesn't have to be perfect, since the workshop is for practice. If you're not sure about their level, message us on WhatsApp and we'll talk it through.
What does my child need to bring?
We send the schedule and a list of what to bring when you confirm your registration. We provide the workshop materials.
Where are the workshops held?
In community spaces in the cities where we have a branch. When you register, we send you the location, the date, and all the details.
